The league supplies basic equipment including balls and catcher’s gear however you may choose to purchase these on your own. Included in the registration fee are: uniform shirt, pants, socks, insurance, and umpire fees. You will need to provide:
Softball Glove
- Girls in grades K-5 should have a glove large enough to fit an 11 inch softball.
- Girls in grades 6-8 should have a glove that is large enough to fit a 12 inch softball.
Batting Helmet
Softball bat
- All bats used on travel teams must have an ASA/USA certified stamp.
Fielding Mask

Check your local yard sale groups! Or as a neighbor or friend who may have some their kids have outgrown.
Play It Again Sports has both used and new equipment.
The Summer Rec league is a great option for girls looking to play the game and have lots of fun in a low-key setting.
While the Summer Hockomock League has lots of fun too, it's more competitive and you can expect more travel to local towns than the Summer Rec league.

No, girls do not need to play in the spring leagues to be eligible for the Summer Hockomock Travel League.
The Walpole Girls Softball League is 100% volunteer led. We need your support to ensure a successful experience for everyone.
Please check out our Board of Director page for opportunities to get involved in the league. Other opportunities include head coach, assistant coach, and bookkeeper.
Our goal is to be flexible and fair. Once teams have been formed and uniforms ordered, barring highly unusual or unforeseen circumstances, refunds are rarely issued, however we encourage you to contact us.
